At 2:18 Greetings Xenophiles!
It’s Kashmir Solidarity Day in Pakistan. And the Winter Olympics start tomorrow in Italy.
On this day in – no year ever – did anything interesting happen at all. Apart from in 2016 when New Zealand policeman Steven Joyce was hit by a flying dildo thrown by a protester.
Talking of policemen – Happy birthday to Robert Peel – 238 years old. Founded the metropolitan police force in London in 1829 – which is why they’re known as Bobbies or Peelers. And some other words which are not nice, so I won’t say them.
And happy birthday tomorrow to the thing of beauty and joy forever that is Luminita Allison.
Our guest this week is another Brit – a top-rated lacrosse player from Manchester (which is a sentence I’ve never said before).
